Just before we were about to turn back we saw this great big bird off in the distance but as we stood and watched it came closer and closer. According to the information board near the visitor centre it was a Cooper's Hawk (not a golden eagle like Dan suspected ... or a bald eagle like I suspected ... just kidding!). It was absolutely brilliant to see against the blue sky and was just soaring above our heads. Typically James woke up just after this.
